A clean install

Done right, in one day.

Most furnace replacements are done in 4 to 6 hours. We lay drop cloths from the door to the mechanical room, haul the old unit out, cut and fit new sheet metal where needed, run the venting to code, wire the thermostat, and commission the new system before we leave.

You get a walkthrough of the new unit, the thermostat, the air filter location, and the warranty paperwork. The permit, if your city requires one, is filed before our truck leaves the curb.

What to look for

What to look for in a new furnace.

If you're comparing quotes from different contractors, these are the specs that actually affect how your furnace runs over its 15 to 20 year life. Price isn't everything, but the right unit, properly sized, will save you more over time than the cheapest quote will save you up front.

FAQ

Furnace installation FAQ.

What to expect when you replace your furnace.

How long does a furnace installation take?

Most replacements are done in 4 to 6 hours. We protect floors from the door to the mechanical room, remove the old unit, set and vent the new one, and commission it before we leave.

What efficiency should I choose?

For Minnesota winters we recommend 96% AFUE or higher. Two-stage or modulating heat and a variable-speed blower keep temperatures steadier and run quieter.

How do you size the furnace?

We run an in-home load calculation, check ductwork and flue configuration, and size to the house rather than matching the old unit. Oversized furnaces short-cycle and wear out early.

Is the quote free?

The in-home assessment is free and carries no obligation. You receive two or three options at different efficiency levels with installed pricing.

Do you handle permits and rebates?

Yes. We file the permit and prepare the Xcel Energy and CenterPoint rebate paperwork, and hand you copies with the invoice.

What warranty do I get?

A 10-year labor warranty from us, plus the manufacturer's warranty on the equipment.

Ready for a free in-home assessment?

We'll come out, measure the home, look at the ductwork and venting, and give you two or three real options with installed pricing. No commission-based sales pressure.
