Indoor air quality.

Dry winter air and tightly sealed homes can leave you with static, cracked wood, and trapped pollutants. We install whole-home humidifiers, filtration, and ventilation built into your existing HVAC system.

01, What we cover

Air quality equipment, installed by HVAC pros

A portable humidifier runs out in a week. A $40 filter blocks less than 20% of what passes through it. Whole-home solutions, mounted on your ductwork or air handler, work continuously and move air through the whole house, not just one room.

Most indoor air quality upgrades can be installed in a single visit of 1 to 3 hours, often alongside a furnace tune-up or filter change. We work with Aprilaire and Honeywell humidifiers, standard and premium media filters, UV purifiers for the air handler, and HRV/ERV ventilation systems for well-sealed homes.

  • Whole-home humidifier installation and service
  • Aprilaire and Honeywell humidifier systems
  • HEPA and media air filter upgrades (4" and 5" wide)
  • Whole-home air purifiers (UV and ionization)
  • Heat recovery ventilators (HRV)
  • Energy recovery ventilators (ERV)
  • Carbon monoxide and smoke detector review
  • Air quality testing guidance
  • Duct cleaning coordination
  • Humidifier annual service and pad replacement

Whole-home humidity

Fix the dry-winter problem at the source

Minnesota winter indoor humidity routinely drops below 20%. The result: cracked wood floors and furniture, static shock everywhere, respiratory dryness, nosebleeds, and worsened cold symptoms. Whole-home humidifiers mount directly to your furnace and condition every room through your existing ductwork.

We size humidifiers to your home's square footage and set them to maintain 30 to 40% relative humidity through the winter. One annual pad change keeps them running for years.

02, How it works

Assessment to calibration

Air quality isn't a single product, it's a stack. We assess what your home needs, recommend accordingly, and install one or multiple pieces as a system.

  1. 01

    Assessment

Current HVAC system, duct configuration, humidity levels, and any specific concerns, allergies, dryness, ventilation, discussed. We identify what will make the biggest difference.

  2. 02

    Recommendation

Equipment matched to home size and existing furnace. We don't push the top-tier bundle, we recommend what solves your actual problem.

  3. 03

    Installation

Most IAQ equipment installs in 1 to 3 hours. Humidifiers mount to the return duct with a water line connection; filter upgrades require a cabinet swap; HRVs need dedicated venting to the outside.

  4. 04

    Calibration

Humidifiers set for Minnesota winter conditions. Purifiers tested. Fresh-air ventilation balanced. We don't leave until everything reads correctly on the controls.

  5. 05

    Maintenance plan integration

IAQ equipment included in annual tune-up checks for Gold and Platinum maintenance customers. Pads, filters, and HRV cores inspected and replaced as part of your yearly visit.

Target winter humidity 30–40% RH
Typical MN winter indoor 15–25% RH
Media filter life 6–12 mo
Install time 1–3 hrs
03, Priorities

IAQ priorities for Minnesota homes

Not every house needs every product. Here's what matters most for Twin Cities winters, in roughly the order we'd recommend them.

  • Whole-home humidifiers prevent wood damage, static, and respiratory dryness in winter

  • Media filters (4" or 5") capture far more than standard 1" filters without restricting airflow

  • HRVs bring in fresh outside air without losing heat, critical in well-sealed homes

  • UV air purifiers neutralize bacteria and mold in the air handler

  • Ideal indoor humidity in Minnesota winter: 30 to 40% relative humidity

  • Homes below 20% humidity experience cracked wood, static shock, and increased illness

Filter upgrades

Why your 1" filter isn't enough

A standard 1-inch filter has about 70 square inches of surface area and clogs quickly if it's rated to catch anything meaningful. A 4" or 5" media filter has 10 times the surface area, catches smaller particles (pollen, dust, mold spores), and lasts 6 to 12 months instead of 30 to 60 days.

We install media filter cabinets on compatible systems in a single visit. Your HVAC runs quieter, the filter costs less per year, and your air is measurably cleaner.

Breathing dry winter air for ten more years?

Humidifier installs often qualify for Xcel Energy rebates. Ask when you call, we handle the paperwork.

Air you don't notice. That's the goal.

Good indoor air is invisible, no dry skin, no static, no stuffy rooms, no dust layer every three days. We'll help you get there.
